Android app Olho no Bebê (baby monitor) · Controller: VNM Apps / JGV Labs (individual developer) · Last updated: October 18, 2026
In short. Olho no Bebê uses two of your phones: one stays in the room as camera and microphone, the other stays with you. Video and sound go straight from one device to the other over your own Wi-Fi network, encrypted.
There is no account and no server of ours, and we never see or hear anything from the room — we couldn't: video and sound never pass through us. The only data leaving the device is what ads and crash diagnostics send, described below.
Processing is carried out by VNM Apps / JGV Labs, individual developer ("we"). Privacy contact: vnmapps@protonmail.com.
| Data | Purpose | Where it stays |
|---|---|---|
| Camera video and microphone sound from the phone in the room | The app's function: show and play them live on the parents' phone and measure sound level for the alarm | Travels only between your two devices, on your local network, encrypted (AES-256-GCM). Not recorded on the room phone and never sent to a server |
| Parent's voice (while you hold "Talk") | Talk to the baby through the room phone's speaker | Only between your two devices, encrypted, not recorded |
| 10-second audio clips and a photo from when the crying alarm went off, plus the night's event list (crying, lost connection, movement, sound played) | Build the "Night summary" | Only on the parents' phone, deleted automatically after 30 days (or on uninstall) |
| Photos you take with the "Photo" button | Keep the moment you chose | In your phone's gallery (OlhoNoBebe folder) |
| Pairing key, random device identifier and room name | Reconnect automatically and prevent other devices from watching | Only on your two devices |
| Preferences (alarm level, delay, sleep sounds, video quality) | Keep your settings | Only on the device |
| Android advertising ID and ad usage data | Show ads, measure performance and prevent fraud (Google AdMob) | Handled by Google under its policy |
| Usage and crash data (device role — baby or parents —, pairing mode, alert type, chosen sound, app version, device model, error report) | Understand usage and fix bugs (Google Analytics for Firebase, Firebase Crashlytics) | Handled by Google. Never includes video, sound, room name, network address or pairing key |
We do not access contacts, messages or location. We do not use video or sound to identify people, do not profile you and do not use your data to train AI models.
The two phones only talk after pairing (QR code or 6-digit PIN shown only on the room phone). Pairing creates a key kept only on the two devices; all video, sound and commands are encrypted with AES-256-GCM with mutual authentication. An unpaired device cannot watch, even on the same network. You can forget a paired device in Settings at any time.
Under Brazil's LGPD and, where applicable, the GDPR: performance of contract to deliver the requested function; consent for camera, microphone, notifications and, where required, personalised ads; legitimate interest for security, fraud prevention and crash diagnostics, with minimal data.
The app is free and funded by Google AdMob ads: a banner at the bottom of the parents' phone screens. There are never ads on the room phone, over the baby's video or on alerts, and ads are always muted. Google and partners may collect the advertising ID to show and measure ads and prevent fraud (Google's policy). In the EEA, UK and Switzerland the app asks for your consent before showing ads and enabling analytics; you can change it in Settings → Privacy and ads.
We do not sell or rent data. Sharing is limited to Google (AdMob, Firebase) and public authorities under a valid legal order. Room video and sound are shared with no one.
Clips, summary photos and night events: 30 days on the parents' phone. Usage and crash data at Google: Firebase default retention (up to 14 months for analytics events). Uninstalling the app from both devices deletes everything.
You may confirm processing, access, correct, delete data and withdraw consent. Since nothing from the room stays with us, requests are fulfilled on the device itself and, for ad and diagnostic data, with Google. Questions: vnmapps@protonmail.com — we reply within 15 days.
The app is used by adults (parents and caregivers) and is not directed to children. The child appears in the video, but that video never leaves the family's devices.
Olho no Bebê is a support tool and does not replace adult supervision; it is not a medical device and does not monitor breathing, heart rate or vital signs. It depends on Wi-Fi, battery and both devices working.
